The ACUITY BRANDS LQC1RELN is a single-face LED exit sign from the Lithonia Lighting Quantum series, designed for AC and battery-backed emergency egress lighting in commercial and institutional buildings. The die-cast aluminum housing carries a matte black electrostatic polymeric trim and a brushed aluminum faceplate with a clear lacquer finish that resists fingerprints and surface contamination. Power draw is 0.6 watts at 120 VAC and 0.7 watts at 277 VAC, making it highly efficient for continuous duty. The sealed nickel-cadmium battery is maintenance-free, and the LED lamp carries a rated life of up to 10 years. Licensed electricians and life-safety contractors are the primary installers of this unit.
The LQC1RELN is rated for damp locations and is appropriate for corridors, stairwells, mechanical rooms, and other interior or covered-exterior egress paths where UL 924 emergency lighting compliance is required. The dual-voltage input accepts both 120 VAC and 277 VAC branch circuits, eliminating the need for a dedicated circuit voltage when working with either standard or high-voltage lighting panels. The unit ships with red letters on a brushed aluminum background plate and includes a universal direction chevron with concealed knockouts for left, right, or straight-arrow configurations.
Designed as a UL 924-listed replacement or new-installation exit sign for commercial general-purpose emergency lighting applications requiring dual-voltage AC plus battery-backup operation in damp-rated locations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 700 requirements for emergency systems and the authority having jurisdiction. Disconnect power at the branch circuit breaker before wiring and verify both line voltage and battery backup are de-energized before handling internal components. Universal mounting knockouts allow top, end, or back conduit entry — select the appropriate knockout before securing the enclosure to the mounting surface. Do not attempt field modification of the sealed nickel-cadmium battery pack.
