The ACORN SW-MW25G250 is a self-piercing, self-tapping metal to wood screw engineered for roofing and siding applications. Manufactured from heat-treated C1022 steel with a case-hardened finish, each screw features a 1/4-inch across-flat high hat hex washer head with an assembled EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) washer. The washer conforms to the mating surface to create a secure, long-lasting weatherproof seal. The twin lead Type 17 point combined with hi-lo threads drives faster and resists pull-out more effectively than standard thread profiles. All screws receive a 1,000-hour salt spray tested dacro coating for corrosion resistance. Sold in a 250-count pack.
These screws are intended for fastening metal panels, roofing sheets, and siding to wood substrates in both residential and light commercial construction. The EPDM washer assembly makes them a go-to fastener wherever a sealed penetration is required, such as metal roofing over purlins or corrugated siding over wood framing. Installation is performed by roofing and siding contractors using standard hex-head driver bits. The 250-count pack format suits job-site quantities for production fastening work.
Designed for metal-to-wood fastening applications including metal roofing and siding panels secured to wood framing or purlin substrates in residential and light commercial construction.
Installation is performed by roofing and siding contractors using a hex-head driver bit matched to the 1/4-inch across-flat head. Drive screws perpendicular to the panel surface so the EPDM washer compresses evenly and seals flush. Do not overdrive — compressing the washer excessively will deform the seal and reduce holding strength. Follow applicable building codes and manufacturer panel installation guidelines for fastener spacing and edge distances.
