The ACIQ ACIQ-30-EHPD / ACIQ-36-ACL-B / N80MSN0902116A is a hybrid heating and cooling system combining a 2.5-ton inverter-driven heat pump with an 88,000 BTU input, 80% AFUE single-stage gas furnace. The heat pump operates on R454B refrigerant and achieves 16 SEER2 efficiency. The furnace delivers 70,400 BTU of usable heat output from an 88,000 BTU input, exhausts through metal flue venting, and uses a multi 18-speed constant torque blower motor rated to 1,445 CFM. Licensed HVAC technicians install this system in residential applications requiring dual-fuel flexibility across all seasons.
This hybrid system is suited for residential installations where natural gas backup heating provides reliability during low outdoor temperatures when heat pump efficiency drops. The furnace cabinet supports upflow, downflow, and horizontal orientations, making it adaptable to a range of mechanical room configurations. The heat pump uses R454B refrigerant with an inverter-driven compressor for variable-capacity operation. The furnace is field-convertible to propane using an optional LP conversion kit. This system is not designed for mobile home installation and is not Low NOx or Ultra Low NOx compliant; units shipped to California may be subject to a mitigation fee.
The furnace component replaces ACIQ N80ESN0902116A. Equivalent models include Carrier 58SB0A090E21--16, Tempstar TN80ESN0902116A, and Bryant 810SA48090E21. AHRI Certificate Number 213146210 applies to this system combination.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician; many jurisdictions require a permit and licensed contractor for gas appliance and refrigerant work. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before servicing any component. The furnace requires metal flue venting at 80% AFUE; PVC or plastic venting is not permitted for this efficiency tier. All installation must conform to applicable state and local codes, and the unit must be registered with the manufacturer within 90 days to activate warranty coverage.
