The ACIQ 84138 is a pre-assembled metallic electrical whip designed for high-amperage HVAC and outdoor electrical connections. Built around 3/4-inch trade-size liquid-tight metallic conduit and 8 AWG THHN/THWN conductors, this whip handles the electrical loads demanded by larger condensers, heat pumps, and similar equipment. It ships ready to install with conductors and connectors already in place, reducing field assembly time. The color-coded conductor set and dual-connector configuration make accurate termination straightforward for licensed electricians and HVAC technicians working in residential and light commercial settings.
This whip is suited for outdoor and exposed-location installations where weather resistance and conduit flexibility are both required. At 6 feet in length with a 3/4-inch conduit diameter, it fits typical disconnect-to-unit rough-in distances for larger split-system condensers, heat pumps, and packaged rooftop units. The liquid-tight metallic construction protects conductors against moisture, UV exposure, and mechanical abuse in open-air environments. One straight and one 90-degree non-metallic liquid-tight connector are included, giving the installer flexibility to adapt to different equipment entry angles without sourcing additional fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation whip for larger residential and light commercial HVAC condensers, heat pumps, and outdoor electrical equipment requiring 8 AWG conductors in 3/4-inch liquid-tight metallic conduit.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. Shut off power at the main disconnect before making any connections. Verify that the equipment nameplate ampacity and circuit breaker rating are compatible with 8 AWG conductors before installing this whip. Ensure liquid-tight connectors are fully seated and secured to both the disconnect enclosure and the equipment knockout to maintain the integrity of the weather-resistant assembly.
