The ACIQ 84136 is a pre-assembled, non-metallic liquid-tight electrical whip designed to connect HVAC condensers, mini-split outdoor units, and similar outdoor electrical equipment to a power source. The assembly uses 10 AWG THHN/THWN conductors housed in a 0.5-inch trade-size liquid-tight non-metallic conduit and arrives ready to install, with conductors and connectors already in place. The liquid-tight jacket provides weather-resistant performance suited to outdoor and exposed locations. Licensed electricians and HVAC technicians install this whip as the final connection between a disconnect box and outdoor condensing unit.
This whip is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC installations where a short, flexible conduit run is required between a disconnect switch and an outdoor unit. The 6-foot length provides enough slack for standard setback installations. The included color-coded conductors — black, red, and green — support quick and accurate termination. One straight and one 90-degree liquid-tight non-metallic connector are factory-installed, covering common entry angles found on condensing unit knockouts and disconnect enclosures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation whip for residential and light commercial HVAC condensers, mini-split outdoor units, and other outdoor electrical equipment requiring a 0.5-inch liquid-tight non-metallic conduit connection.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Shut off and lock out power at the main disconnect before making any connections. Verify that the circuit breaker amperage is appropriate for 10 AWG conductors and the connected equipment load rating before energizing. Do not over-bend the conduit beyond its rated flex radius, and ensure both liquid-tight connectors are fully threaded and tightened to maintain the weather-resistant seal.
