The ACCUPRO T2657703 is a 3/4-10 spiral flute tap designed for threading operations that require reliable chip evacuation and controlled cutting action. Built from vanadium high speed steel (3% vanadium HSS), it delivers extended tool life in demanding applications including titanium and other difficult-to-machine materials. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of blind holes where standard plug or taper taps cannot reach. With 4 right-hand flutes at a 15-degree helix angle, this tap moves chips up and out of the cut efficiently, reducing the risk of re-cutting and tap breakage. Overall length is 4.25 inches and the finish is bright/uncoated.
This tap is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where 3/4-10 UNC internal threads are required. The H3 thread limit makes it appropriate for use with standard H3 tolerance thread gauges and fits within typical Class 2B and Class 3B thread requirements. Its design is particularly well matched to blind-hole applications in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including titanium alloys, where a modified bottoming chamfer is specified. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators in manufacturing and job-shop settings are the primary users.
Designed as a direct-use spiral flute tap for 3/4-10 UNC blind-hole threading applications, including use in titanium as specified by the manufacturer material application rating.
This tap is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a tapping machine, drill press with tapping attachment, or CNC machining center with rigid or floating tap holder. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and that the correct tap drill diameter for 3/4-10 UNC is used prior to tapping. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material, particularly when tapping titanium, to reduce heat and galling. Inspect the tap for wear or chipping before each use and do not force a worn tap, as breakage in titanium is difficult to recover from.
