The ACCUPRO T1634723 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting 3/4-16 UNF internal threads in through-holes and blind-hole applications where chip evacuation is critical. Built from cobalt high-speed steel, it handles harder workpiece materials that would accelerate wear in standard HSS tooling. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral design pulls chips up and out of the hole during cutting, reducing the risk of chip packing and tap breakage. A black oxide finish provides light corrosion resistance and reduces friction at the cutting edge. This tap carries an H3 thread limit and a Class 2/3B fit, making it appropriate for standard tolerance threaded assemblies in production and maintenance machining environments.
This tap is suited for use in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a 3/4-16 UNF thread is required. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading closer to the bottom of a blind hole than a plug or taper chamfer while still providing adequate lead-in. It is commonly used by machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working on hydraulic components, fastener holes, and mechanical assemblies that specify UNF thread forms. The right-hand flute and right-hand thread configuration are standard for conventional tapping setups using hand tools, tapping heads, or CNC machining centers.
Designed as a direct-use tap for 3/4-16 UNF threaded hole applications in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Compatible with standard 3/4-inch tap holders, tapping heads, and CNC toolholders sized for the 0.590-inch shank diameter.
This tap is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom technicians using standard tapping equipment. Ensure the workpiece is rigidly fixtured and the pilot hole is drilled to the correct tap drill diameter for 3/4-16 UNF before tapping. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve thread finish. Do not exceed the recommended cutting speed for cobalt HSS tooling in the material being tapped, and reverse the tap periodically to break chips when working in deep blind holes.
