It features a 29-degree profile angle and cuts threads at 12 TPI with a maximum cutting depth of 0.4 inches. The minimum threading diameter is 0.23 inches, making it suited for small-bore internal thread applications. The tool ships bright and uncoated, preserving the carbide substrate for general-purpose threading. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in precision shops are the primary users of this style of insert-style threading bar.
This threading tool is configured for internal applications where a boring-bar-style holder or direct shank mounting is required. The 5/16-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length suit compact toolholders on smaller lathes and Swiss-type machines. The 0.07-inch projection from edge and 0.033-inch flat width allow the tool to engage fine-pitch threads in tight bores. Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Secure the shank fully in the toolholder to the manufacturer-recommended clamping depth before engaging the workpiece. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth-of-pass settings are appropriate for carbide tooling and the workpiece material before initiating the threading cycle. Do not exceed the rated cutting depth of 0.4 inches per pass.
