The ACCUPRO PN01608000MSC is a keyless drill chuck designed for use with tapered-mount spindles using a JT6 taper interface. It accepts drill bits and round-shank tooling from 1/8 inch up to 5/8 inch in diameter, making it suitable for a wide range of drilling applications. The chuck features a steel body construction and ball bearing internals that support smooth, consistent clamping action at speeds up to 6000 RPM. With a sleeve diameter of 2.165 inches and a closed length of 4.213 inches, it is built for industrial-grade drill presses, radial arm drills, and similar stationary equipment. Machinists and tool-room technicians are the primary installers.
This chuck is suited for use in machine shops, maintenance environments, and fabrication settings where a reliable, hand-tightened chuck is preferred over a keyed design. The keyless design allows for quick bit changes without a separate key, reducing downtime during repetitive drilling tasks. It is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous material drilling on stationary drill press platforms that accept a JT6 taper mount. Typical users include machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians working on bench-top or floor-standing drill press equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or upgrade chuck for stationary drill press equipment with a JT6 tapered spindle mount accepting round-shank tooling up to 5/8 inch diameter.
Installation on a JT6 tapered spindle is performed by machinists or qualified equipment technicians. Power down and lockout the drill press before seating or removing the chuck. The chuck is pressed onto the taper by hand and typically seated with a firm mallet strike against a wooden block placed over the chuck body — never strike the chuck sleeve directly. When removing, use a proper chuck drift through the spindle drift slot to avoid spindle damage.
