The ACCUPRO CR05400000MSC is a standard Morse taper reducing sleeve designed to adapt an MT5 spindle or socket to accept MT4 tooling. The sleeve is hardened and ground throughout for dimensional accuracy and long service life under repeated use. It measures 6-13/16 inches overall length with a 3/4-inch projection and weighs 2.33 pounds. Machinists and tool room technicians install this sleeve directly into a machine spindle or adapter socket to allow MT4 shank tools to run in MT5 bores without slippage or runout from loose fit.
This reducing sleeve fits machine shop and manufacturing environments where lathes, milling machines, drill presses, or boring machines carry an MT5 spindle and the tooling on hand uses MT4 shanks. It is a practical solution when changing machine tooling without replacing the full spindle setup. The hardened and ground construction makes it suitable for production runs as well as tool room applications where precision is required at every setup.
Designed as a standard reducing sleeve for machine spindles or adapter sockets with an MT5 bore, accepting tooling with MT4 Morse taper shanks.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool room technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle completely before inserting or removing any taper sleeve. Ensure both mating taper surfaces are clean and free of chips, oil, and burrs before seating the sleeve. Use a properly sized drift and mallet to eject the sleeve from the spindle rather than prying to avoid damage to the taper surfaces.
