The ACCUPRO B4902600A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), this bar delivers excellent wear resistance and heat dissipation at elevated cutting speeds. It handles a minimum bore diameter of 0.49 inches and a maximum bore depth of 2.6 inches, making it well suited to close-tolerance finish boring in a wide range of workpiece materials including hardened steels and cast iron. The 0.5-inch shank diameter and 4-inch overall length provide rigid tool holding in standard ER or set-screw style boring head holders.
This boring bar is appropriate for production and job-shop environments where consistent bore geometry and surface finish are required. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with conventional spindle rotation on most CNC turning and milling platforms. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking applications will find this bar fits common finish-boring workflows where carbide rigidity reduces chatter and improves dimensional repeatability. It ships as a single unit and is suited for both new-setup applications and direct replacement of worn tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling addition for CNC lathes and machining centers accepting a 0.5-inch shank boring bar with right-hand cutting direction.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a fully powered-down and locked-out state before changing tooling. The shank must be seated to the minimum clamping depth specified by the tool holder manufacturer to ensure rigidity and prevent pullout. Verify bore alignment and runout with a dial indicator before taking finish passes. Consult the machine tool manual and applicable shop safety procedures for torque and clamping requirements specific to the tool holder in use.
