The ACCUPRO B4901000R is a corner radius boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Machined from submicron-grade solid carbide, this bar delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for tight-tolerance bores in hardened and abrasive workpiece materials. It handles a minimum bore diameter of 0.49 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1 inch, with a corner radius range of 0.005 to 0.008 inches for controlled surface finish at the bore floor transition. The 0.5-inch shank diameter and 3-inch overall length make it compatible with standard boring bar holders used in production and job-shop turning applications. Machinists and CNC operators install this tool in operations requiring consistent corner geometry.
This boring bar is suited for right-hand cutting operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a defined corner radius is required at the base of the bore. The bright finish coating keeps the surface uncoated, which is preferred when machining certain aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials where coatings may cause built-up edge. It fits production turning, prototype work, and repair machining where repeatable bore geometry and depth control are critical. Typical applications include bearing seat bores, housing bores, and precision counterbore finishing passes.
Designed for use in standard 0.5-inch boring bar holders on CNC lathes, manual turning centers, and machining centers configured for internal boring operations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the shank firmly in a boring bar holder or tool block to the full recommended engagement depth before starting the spindle. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and the spindle is locked before tool changes. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 1 inch, as overhang beyond the rated depth increases deflection and can cause chatter or tool breakage.
