The ACCUPRO B3601600A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for internal diameter machining in metal cutting operations. Built from submicron-grade carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), this bar delivers consistent cutting performance in hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other demanding workpiece materials. It cuts in the right-hand direction with a minimum bore diameter of 0.36 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.6 inches. The 3/8-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length make it suited to compact boring setups on CNC lathes and machining centers. Machinists and toolroom professionals use this bar for precision finish boring passes where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical.
This boring bar is appropriate for small-diameter internal boring work in production and job-shop environments. Its submicron carbide substrate resists chipping and maintains edge integrity at elevated cutting speeds. The AlTiN coating provides thermal protection during dry or semi-dry cutting, reducing tool wear in interrupted cuts and high-speed applications. Typical applications include finishing bored holes in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces on CNC turning centers, vertical machining centers, and manual lathes equipped with a boring bar holder or quick-change toolpost. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as a direct-fit boring bar for 3/8-inch boring bar holders and compatible quick-change toolpost systems used on CNC lathes and machining centers requiring right-hand internal boring capability.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before mounting or removing the boring bar. Secure the shank firmly in the holder to the holder manufacturer's recommended clamping procedure to prevent chatter and tool pullout. Verify bore diameter and depth clearance against workpiece dimensions before initiating a cutting pass.
