The ACCUPRO B3201600A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal diameter machining on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built from submicron-grade carbide and coated with AlTiN, it handles high-heat and abrasive cutting conditions without rapid edge wear. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation. With a 0.32-inch minimum bore diameter and a maximum bore depth of 1.6 inches, it fits tight-tolerance internal features in small bores. The 3/8-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length keep the tool compact and rigid in the turret or boring head, reducing chatter and deflection during cuts.
This boring bar is used in production and job-shop turning operations where small-diameter internal bores require consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Typical applications include finish boring of hydraulic valve bodies, pneumatic components, bushings, and precision housings in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temp alloys. It is installed by machinists and CNC tool-setters working to tight tolerances in both manual and automated turning setups.
Designed as a standard-shank boring bar compatible with 3/8-inch bore tool holders, turret stations, and boring head adapters on CNC lathes and machining centers accepting right-hand tooling.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tool-setter. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before loading or unloading tooling. Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the manufacturer-specified clamping depth to minimize overhang and deflection. Verify cutting direction and offset values in the tool register before running the first part.
