The ACCUPRO B290500R is a corner radius boring bar machined from submicron-grade solid carbide for precision internal boring operations. It is designed for right-hand cutting and produces a controlled corner radius between 0.0050 and 0.0080 inches at the base of a bored feature. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.29 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.50 inches, this bar is suited for small-diameter, shallow-bore applications where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. The bright finish coating reduces friction and supports chip flow. A 5/16-inch shank diameter and 2.50-inch overall length keep the tool compact for tight workpiece geometries. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, production, and toolroom environments install this bar in standard boring bar holders.
This boring bar is used in CNC turning centers and manual lathes where small-bore internal features require a precise corner radius. It is appropriate for applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a sharp or fully radiused corner transition is required at bore depth. The submicron carbide grade provides resistance to chipping and wear in interrupted cuts and tight-tolerance finish passes. It is commonly applied in toolroom setups, fixture boring, and small-component production machining where bore depth is limited to 0.50 inches.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling solution for standard boring bar holders accepting a 5/16-inch shank diameter in CNC turning centers and manual lathes.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the machine powered down or placed in E-stop before tool changes. Ensure the boring bar shank is fully seated and clamped to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 0.50 inches to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
