The ACCUPRO B2901600R is a solid carbide boring bar designed for internal diameter machining on lathes and boring mills. Built from submicron-grade carbide, this right-hand cutting tool delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for precision bore work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.290 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 1.6000 inches, making it well suited for shallow to mid-depth bores in production and job-shop environments. The 5/16-inch shank diameter fits standard boring bar holders and quick-change tooling systems. Overall length is 3 inches. Machinists and CNC operators select this bar when dimensional accuracy and surface finish in small-diameter bores are the priority.
This boring bar is used in turning centers, manual lathes, and boring mills where small-bore internal turning is required. Typical applications include finish boring of hydraulic valve bodies, pump housings, bearing bores, and precision fixtures. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation in most lathe configurations. Submicron carbide grade provides extended tool life in interrupted cuts and hardened materials compared to standard carbide grades. Sold individually, this bar is a direct drop-in for setups that already use 5/16-inch shank tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for tooling setups that use 5/16-inch shank boring bars in lathes, turning centers, and boring mills requiring a minimum bore diameter of 0.290 inches.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the boring bar from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamping screws are torqued evenly per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify bore diameter and depth clearances before initiating a cut to prevent tool or workpiece interference.
