The ACCUPRO B2301600R is a corner radius boring bar machined from submicron solid carbide for use in precision internal boring operations. It cuts on the right hand and accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.23 inches, reaching a maximum bore depth of 1.6 inches. The shank diameter measures 5/16 inches with an overall length of 3 inches. A bright finish coating is applied to the carbide substrate. The corner radius range of 0.005 to 0.008 inches allows for controlled blending at the base of bored features. Machinists and tool and die professionals use this bar for tight-tolerance work on lathes and boring mills where carbide rigidity and consistent corner geometry are required.
This boring bar is suited for internal diameter operations on both manual and CNC lathes. The submicron carbide grade performs well when boring ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tool deflection must be minimized. The right-hand cutting orientation is compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional setups. Its compact bore entry of 0.23 inches makes it appropriate for small-bore work, while the 1.6-inch depth capacity covers a broad range of part depths encountered in production and job-shop environments.
Designed as a direct-fit corner radius boring bar for use in standard boring bar holders accepting a 5/16-inch round shank on CNC and manual lathes.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for boring bar clamping and overhang limits. Secure the shank fully in the tool holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth and confirm runout before cutting. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or repositioning the bar. Avoid exceeding the maximum bore depth rating, as extended overhang beyond designed limits increases deflection and risk of tool breakage.
