The ACCUPRO B2301100R is a corner radius boring bar machined from submicron solid carbide for high-precision internal boring operations. It cuts in a right-hand direction and accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.23 inches with a maximum bore depth of 1.1 inches. The bright finish coating reduces built-up edge and supports clean chip evacuation. With a 5/16-inch shank diameter and an overall length of 2.5 inches, this bar fits standard boring setups on CNC lathes and machining centers. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians install this type of boring bar for finish-bore and close-tolerance work on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This boring bar is suited for small-diameter internal bore finishing where a controlled corner radius is required at the base of the bore. The corner radius range of 0.005 to 0.008 inches allows the operator to select appropriate edge geometry for the surface finish and stress-relief requirements of the workpiece. It is commonly used in production and job-shop environments on CNC turning centers and manual lathes equipped with a compatible tool holder accepting a 5/16-inch shank. Applications include bore finishing in hydraulic components, pump bodies, and precision mechanical assemblies.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement-style boring bar for tool holders accepting a 5/16-inch round shank, as used in standard CNC turning centers and manual lathe boring setups requiring right-hand cut geometry.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Before inserting the bar, ensure the spindle is fully stopped, locked out, and the machine is in a safe state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the shank in the tool holder to the manufacturer-specified clamping method without applying side loads that could induce runout. Verify bore diameter, depth stop, and corner radius selection against the part print before initiating a cut.
