The ACCUPRO B180350R is a corner radius boring bar manufactured from submicron solid carbide for precision internal boring operations. It supports a minimum bore diameter of 0.18 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.35 inches, making it suited to tight-tolerance work in small-diameter bores. The 1/4-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length keep the tool compact and rigid. A bright finish coating is applied to the carbide substrate. Corner radius range runs from 0.005 to 0.008 inches, providing a controlled edge break at the bore floor. This bar is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC lathes, boring mills, and manual engine lathes requiring right-hand cut geometry.
This boring bar is designed for precision machining applications where small bore diameters and shallow depths demand a rigid, vibration-resistant tool. Typical use cases include finishing operations on hydraulic valve bodies, pneumatic components, instrument housings, and other parts requiring tight roundness and surface finish tolerances. The submicron carbide grade performs well in ferrous and non-ferrous materials at elevated cutting speeds. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional lathe and boring mill setups where the spindle rotates counterclockwise when viewed from the tailstock.
Designed as a direct-fit boring bar for standard 1/4-inch boring bar holders used on CNC and manual lathes, boring mills, and machining centers requiring right-hand cut tooling.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Secure the 1/4-inch shank in a compatible boring bar holder and verify tool stick-out does not exceed the recommended length-to-diameter ratio to minimize deflection. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cutting geometry before engaging the workpiece. Inspect the cutting edge and corner radius condition before each use; carbide tools should not be used if chipping or cracking is visible.
