The ACCUPRO B1801250A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for internal bore finishing and sizing operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide with an AlTiN finish coating, this bar delivers the wear resistance and edge stability needed for tight-tolerance boring work in hardened steels, cast iron, and high-temp alloys. It features a right-hand cutting direction, a 0.18 inch minimum bore diameter, and a maximum bore depth of 1.25 inches. The 1/4 inch shank diameter and 2.5 inch overall length make it well-suited for small-bore applications where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical.
This boring bar is used in precision machining environments including job shops, production turning cells, and toolroom operations. Its submicron carbide substrate and AlTiN coating support dry cutting and high-speed passes in ferrous and nonferrous materials. It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes within its bore diameter range, and is commonly installed in standard boring bar holders or quick-change tooling systems sized for 1/4 inch shanks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit boring bar for standard 1/4 inch boring bar holders used in CNC and manual turning applications requiring a minimum bore diameter of 0.18 inches.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling setters. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the boring bar from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped to the holder manufacturer's recommended engagement depth to minimize overhang-induced vibration. Do not exceed the tool's stated maximum bore depth, as overextension can cause chatter, deflection, or premature tool failure.
