The ACCUPRO B160900A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and boring machines. Manufactured from submicron carbide grade material and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), this bar delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in demanding cutting conditions. It accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.16 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 0.9 inches, making it well suited for small-diameter, moderate-depth bore work. The 3/16-inch shank diameter and 2-inch overall length keep the tool compact and rigid. Right-hand cut geometry is standard.
This boring bar is applied in precision machining environments where small internal diameters require accurate, repeatable stock removal. Typical applications include finish boring of hydraulic valve bodies, precision housings, bushings, and similar small-bore components in both production and job-shop settings. The AlTiN coating supports dry or minimum-quantity lubrication cutting strategies, which are common in aerospace, automotive, and general precision machining shops. Machinists and CNC programmers working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials will find this bar appropriate for finishing passes where close tolerances are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC lathes, turning centers, and boring machines equipped with tool holders accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter boring bar.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before mounting or removing the boring bar. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the tool holder to minimize overhang and reduce the risk of chatter or deflection during the cut. Verify bore diameter and depth settings with a test pass before committing to finish dimensions on critical workpieces.
