The ACCUPRO B120700A is a solid carbide boring bar engineered for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured from submicron-grade carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers excellent wear resistance and heat dissipation during high-speed cutting. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle-forward boring passes. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.12 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.7 inches, this bar targets small-diameter, shallow-bore applications where rigidity and edge retention are critical. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this bar when finishing tight bores in hardened or abrasive workpiece materials.
This boring bar is suited for small-bore finish and semi-finish operations in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. Its 3/16-inch shank diameter fits standard boring bar holders and tool blocks designed for that shank size. The 2-inch overall length keeps the bar compact, reducing deflection in short-reach setups. Typical materials machined include steel alloys, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened workpieces where AlTiN coating provides a thermal barrier at the cutting edge. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before loading or changing tooling. Ensure the boring bar shank is fully seated and clamped securely in the tool holder to the minimum recommended engagement depth specified by the holder manufacturer. Do not exceed the recommended depth-of-cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and bore diameter; undersized bores increase deflection risk and can cause chatter or tool breakage.
