The ACCUPRO B060500A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on small-diameter features. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers the hardness and heat resistance required for tight-tolerance work in steel, stainless, cast iron, and hardened materials. The 0.06 inch minimum bore diameter and 0.5 inch maximum bore depth make it suited for micro-bore and close-tolerance applications. With a 1/8 inch shank diameter and 1.5 inch overall length, this bar fits compact toolholders used on CNC lathes and small boring operations. Machinists and toolroom technicians working on precision components rely on this style of bar for consistent finish and dimensional control.
This boring bar is used in precision machining environments including production shops, toolrooms, and job shops. It is appropriate for internal diameter finishing and semi-finishing passes on small bores where surface finish and roundness tolerances are critical. Right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation on the majority of CNC turning centers and manual lathes. The submicron carbide substrate supports interrupted cuts and abrasive workpiece materials where standard-grade carbide would wear prematurely.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for 1/8 inch shank boring toolholders used on CNC turning centers and manual lathes performing small-diameter internal boring operations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank firmly in the toolholder to the appropriate clamping torque specified by the toolholder manufacturer before engaging the workpiece. Ensure spindle and all axis motion is fully stopped before changing or adjusting the boring bar. Inspect the cutting edge and AlTiN coating for chipping or wear before each use, as a damaged edge on a submicron carbide tool can produce out-of-tolerance bores without visible warning.
