The ACCUPRO ACC-RC500060 is a single point tool bit designed for cut-off and grooving operations on metalworking lathes and turning centers. Built with a solid carbide tip brazed to a steel shank, this RC-style bit delivers consistent edge life and dimensional accuracy in interrupted and continuous cutting passes. The shank measures 0.5 inches wide by 0.5 inches tall with an overall length of 6 inches. The tip width and tip thickness are both 0.060 inches, making it well suited for narrow parting cuts and precision grooving where consistent kerf width is required. Right-hand cutting direction means the tool feeds from right to left in standard lathe orientation. It is installed and used by machinists, tool and die makers, and production lathe operators.
This tool bit fits RC-style tool holders and is appropriate for residential shop lathes, job shop turning equipment, and production CNC turning centers where brazed carbide tooling is specified. Typical applications include parting stock to length, cutting external grooves, and recessing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 6-inch overall length provides reach compatibility with a range of turret and lantern-style tool post setups. The RC industry standard designation aligns with the MSC and broader cutting tool catalog designation RC-500060.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit tool bit for RC-style single point tool holders accepting a 0.5 inch square shank. Industry standard number RC-500060 provides direct cross-reference to equivalent catalog designations.
Installation is performed by machinists and lathe operators. Secure the shank firmly in the tool holder and verify tip height is aligned to workpiece centerline before initiating a cut. Power down the lathe and lock out the spindle before seating or adjusting the tool bit. Do not exceed the tool holder or machine manufacturer rated feed and speed recommendations for brazed carbide tooling.
