The ACCUPRO ACC-RAD7 is a RAD style concave radius cutting tool bit designed for precision radius turning and form-cutting operations on lathes and similar machine tools. This right-hand bit features a carbide tip brazed to a square shank, combining wear resistance with the rigidity needed for consistent, repeatable cuts. At 2.5 inches in overall length with a 3/8 inch square shank, it fits standard tool holders used in production and job-shop environments. The 7/32 inch concave radius profile produces an accurate curved form on the workpiece in a single pass. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians working in metal removal applications install and use this bit.
The ACC-RAD7 is suited for lathe operations where a concave radius form must be cut into a workpiece, such as producing grooves, undercuts, bearing seats, or decorative profiles. Its right-hand orientation means it cuts when the carriage feeds from right to left in a conventional setup. The carbide tip handles ferrous and non-ferrous materials at elevated cutting speeds where high-speed steel bits would wear prematurely. This bit is a practical choice for shops that need a ready-to-use form tool without custom grinding.
Designed as an OEM-style form tool for use in lathe tool posts and holders that accept a 3/8 inch square shank cutting bit.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the bit in the tool post so the cutting edge is set at the correct center height relative to the workpiece axis before engaging the cut. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before inserting or adjusting the bit in the holder. Avoid side-loading the carbide tip beyond its rated geometry, as carbide is brittle and can chip under lateral impact.
