The ACCUPRO ACC-IDRT81 is a single point threading tool bit designed for precision internal and external thread cutting on lathes and turning centers. Built with a micrograin solid carbide tip brazed to a steel shank, this IDRT-style bit delivers consistent thread form accuracy on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 60-degree included angle conforms to standard unified thread profiles. The shank measures 1/2 inch wide by 1/2 inch tall with an overall length of 3-1/2 inches, making it compatible with standard tool holders in that size class. Right-hand cutting direction means the tool feeds toward the headstock in conventional lathe threading passes. Machinists and tool and die professionals install this bit as a production or replacement threading insert in high-precision threading operations.
This tool bit is suited for threading applications on manual and CNC lathes in job shop, production machining, and toolroom environments. The IDRT style and 60-degree angle make it appropriate for cutting standard 60-degree thread forms including UN and metric unified profiles. The minimum thread diameter this tool will reach is 0.575 inches, making it useful for both small-bore internal threading and standard external threading setups. The 1-1/4 inch tip length provides adequate reach for threading operations where tool extension and clearance are a factor.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production threading tool bit for lathes and turning centers accepting IDRT-style single point tool holders with a 1/2 inch shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists familiar with lathe tooling and threading operations. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or adjusting the tool bit in the holder. Verify shank seating and tool height alignment to centerline before beginning a threading pass. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines for tool overhang and cutting speeds.
