The ACCUPRO ACC-GS120F is a single point tool bit designed for cut-off and grooving operations on metal lathes and turning centers. Built on a GS-style shank with a micrograin solid carbide tip, it delivers precise groove geometry in a neutral cutting direction. The shank measures 3/8 inch in both width and height, making it a compact, rigid option for close-tolerance grooving work. Groove width ranges from 0.120 to 0.122 inches with a maximum depth of cut of 0.400 inches. Full radius geometry is included. This bit is suited for machinists and toolroom operators running production or jobshop turning operations.
The ACC-GS120F fits standard GS-style tool holders used in manual and CNC lathe setups. It is intended for grooving applications where tight width tolerances and consistent depth control are required. Typical use cases include external groove cutting on steel, stainless, and similar materials in both job shop and production environments. The neutral cutting direction makes it adaptable to both left- and right-hand setups depending on toolholder orientation.
Designed for use with GS-style single point toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch shank width and 3/8 inch shank height. Industry standard number GS-120F.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the lathe or turning center is fully powered down and the spindle is locked before changing or indexing tool bits. Secure the shank firmly in the toolholder to the manufacturer-specified clamping procedure before resuming operation. Inspect the carbide tip for chipping or wear prior to each use.
