The ACCUPRO ACC-GS090002 is a single point cut-off and grooving tool bit designed for precision external grooving operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built on a 3/8 inch square shank, the bit features a micrograin solid carbide tip that delivers consistent edge retention and wear resistance in demanding turning applications. The neutral cutting direction suits straight plunge grooving without lateral bias. Groove width ranges from 0.09 to 0.092 inches, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.3 inches, making it well suited for narrow, controlled groove profiles. This tool bit is installed and used by machinists and toolroom professionals in precision machining environments.
The ACC-GS090002 is intended for cut-off and grooving work on lathes handling ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where a narrow groove width and controlled depth are required. The GS tool bit style is a recognized industry-standard format for single point grooving inserts. Typical applications include groove profiling, undercut machining, and parting operations on bar stock or chucked workpieces. The micrograin carbide grade is particularly effective at maintaining cutting geometry under continuous-feed conditions at moderate to high surface speeds.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tool bit for GS-style single point grooving tool holders accepting a 3/8 inch square shank. Industry standard number GS-090002 may be used to cross-reference compatible holders and equivalent tooling.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists familiar with single point turning tool setup. The shank must be securely clamped in a matching tool holder and set to the correct centerline height before operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the lathe is powered off before inserting or removing the tool bit. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable OSHA machining guidelines when operating cutting tools at speed.
