The ACCUPRO ACC-GS068F is a GS-style single-point cut-off and grooving tool bit designed for precision grooving operations on CNC and manual lathes. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, this neutral-cutting bit delivers consistent edge retention and dimensional repeatability in demanding turning applications. The tool features a full-radius cutting edge and supports a minimum groove width of 0.068 inches and a maximum groove width of 0.070 inches, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.210 inches. The 3/8 x 3/8 inch shank fits standard toolholders commonly found in production and job-shop turning setups. Machinists and CNC lathe operators working in ferrous and non-ferrous materials will find this bit suited to tight-tolerance groove work.
This tool bit is intended for grooving and cut-off operations in turning applications where precise groove width control is critical. The GS tool style and neutral cutting direction make it appropriate for straight grooving on external diameters in both light and moderate production environments. The micrograin carbide grade provides wear resistance suitable for steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar materials encountered in general machining. The compact shank size and full-radius geometry make it a practical choice for small-bore and standard lathe work in manufacturing, maintenance, and toolroom settings.
Designed as a GS-style single-point tool bit compatible with standard toolholders accepting a 3/8 x 3/8 inch shank. Industry standard number GS-068F applies.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the lathe spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before seating or removing the tool bit. Secure the bit firmly in the toolholder to the holder manufacturer's specified clamping method to prevent chatter and maintain groove-width accuracy. Verify shank seating depth and tool centerline height before taking a cut.
