The ACCUPRO ACC-GS022F is a single-point cut-off and grooving tool bit designed for precision groove machining on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It features a micrograin solid carbide tip brazed to a neutral-cutting GS-style shank, delivering consistent edge integrity across high-volume production runs and intermittent grooving operations. The 3/8-inch shank width and 3/8-inch shank height provide a rigid, low-profile setup that resists deflection during interrupted cuts. With a maximum groove width of 0.024 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.090 inches, this bit is suited for fine, tight-tolerance grooving where dimensional accuracy is critical. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in ferrous and non-ferrous materials are the primary users.
The ACC-GS022F is intended for external cut-off and grooving operations on turning equipment. Its neutral cutting direction makes it adaptable to both left-hand and right-hand tool post orientations depending on setup requirements. The GS tool bit style is a common format for tool holders used in production and job-shop environments where quick changeout and consistent repeatability are required. This bit is appropriate for grooving operations requiring tight groove width tolerances, including snap-ring grooves, oil grooves, and parting cuts on small-diameter workpieces. It is sold individually and is well-suited for bench stock in machine shops that maintain standard tooling inventories.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for GS-style single-point cut-off and grooving tool holders accepting a 3/8-inch shank, referenced by industry standard number GS-022F.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully stopped and in a locked-out, tagged-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the shank firmly in the tool holder to the torque specification required by the holder manufacturer before engaging the spindle. Inspect the carbide tip for chipping or wear before each use, as a damaged tip can affect groove width accuracy and surface finish. Refer to the cutting tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material before starting a cut.
