The ACCUPRO ACC-GR096-8 is a solid carbide O-ring grooving tool designed for cutting precision internal O-ring grooves in bores and hydraulic ports. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, this tool delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for consistent groove geometry in production and repair environments. The 1/4-inch shank diameter accommodates standard collet chucks and small-bore toolholders. With a groove width of 0.0970 inches and a minimum hole diameter of 0.2500 inches, the ACC-GR096-8 is suited for tight-bore O-ring groove applications where dimensional accuracy directly affects seal performance. Machinists and maintenance technicians working on hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic housings, and fluid-system components rely on this style of tool for repeatable groove profiles.
This tool is appropriate for use in CNC turning centers, manual lathes, and rotary transfer machines where internal grooving of small bores is required. It is commonly used in industrial maintenance, precision machining, and fluid-power repair applications. The 0.1100-inch projection and 0.5000-inch maximum hole depth rating make it suitable for shallow to mid-depth bore grooving in steel, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials. The overall length of 2.5 inches keeps the tool rigid in the spindle during grooving passes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit grooving tool for CNC lathes and manual turning machines equipped with 1/4-inch collet or bore toolholders capable of accepting solid carbide internal grooving tools.
Install in a clean, properly sized collet or boring bar holder and verify runout before taking a grooving pass. Ensure the workpiece is secured and the machine is at a full stop before measuring or changing the tool. Follow the machine manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for solid carbide internal grooving tools when programming or setting the depth of cut. Inspect the cutting edge before each use, as carbide grooving edges are brittle and should not be forced into interrupted cuts or used beyond visible wear.
