The tool features a 3/8 inch shank diameter and produces a 0.0880 inch groove width. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.1100 inch projection, it is suited for precision grooving in shallow to moderate-depth bores. Machinists and toolroom professionals use this style of tool where tight groove geometry and surface finish tolerances are required.
This grooving tool is appropriate for internal groove applications in production and job-shop environments. It is commonly used on manual or CNC lathes when cutting full-radius grooves in bores with a minimum hole diameter of 0.3750 inches and a maximum hole depth of 0.3750 inches.
