The ACCUPRO ACC-G187-24 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for precision internal groove cutting. Built from submicron carbide grade material, it delivers consistent edge retention and dimensional accuracy in demanding machining applications. The tool features a 1/2 inch shank diameter and cuts a groove width of 0.188 inches, making it suited for retaining ring groove profiles in bored holes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this tool in CNC lathes and boring setups where tight tolerances on internal groove geometry are required.
This grooving tool is intended for use in internal retaining ring groove applications across a range of materials. It accommodates a minimum hole diameter of 0.5 inches and a maximum hole depth of 1.5 inches, with a projection of 0.16 inches. The 3 inch overall length provides clearance and rigidity for typical bore depths encountered in production and maintenance machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use internal grooving tool for CNC lathes, boring mills, and similar setups requiring a 1/2 inch shank retaining ring grooving tool.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholder clamping procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Use a calibrated torque wrench when securing the toolholder set screws to manufacturer specifications for the holder in use. Verify projection length and groove width against the workpiece drawing before initiating the cut.
