The ACCUPRO ACC-G069-20 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for internal grooving operations on bores and blind holes. Built from submicron carbide grade material, it delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for consistent, repeatable groove profiles in precision machining applications. The tool features a 3/8 inch shank diameter and cuts a groove width of 0.0700 inches. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a projection of 0.1100 inches. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this tool in CNC lathes and manual turning centers where retaining ring grooves must meet tight tolerances.
This grooving tool is suited for internal bore work in both production and maintenance machining environments. It handles minimum hole diameters starting at 0.3750 inches and reaches a maximum hole depth of 1.2500 inches, making it appropriate for shallow to moderate-depth bore grooves. Typical applications include cutting snap ring grooves in hydraulic cylinders, motor housings, gearbox bores, and similar precision components requiring a retaining ring seat.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling selection for CNC and manual lathes equipped with 3/8 inch bore grooving toolholders used in retaining ring groove applications.
Installation of this tool is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully in a compatible 3/8 inch toolholder and confirm proper tool overhang before operation. Verify spindle speed and feed rate settings against the workpiece material before engaging the cut. Handle carbide tooling carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge during setup or storage.
