The ACCUPRO ACC-G055-6 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for internal groove cutting operations in machined bores. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, this tool delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for precision grooving in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/8 inch shank diameter and 0.0560 inch groove width make it well suited for tight-tolerance retaining ring seats. At 2.5 inches overall length and a 0.1100 inch projection, it provides controlled cutting geometry for consistent groove depth and wall finish. Machinists and tool and die professionals rely on this type of grooving tool for repeatable internal groove geometry in production and repair applications.
This grooving tool is intended for use in CNC lathes, manual lathes, and boring operations where internal retaining ring grooves must be cut to precise dimensional tolerances. It is suited for both production machining environments and job shop applications. The minimum hole diameter is 0.3750 inch, making it appropriate for small-bore grooving work up to a maximum hole depth of 0.3750 inch. Installation and use of this grooving tool should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with turning and boring operations. Ensure the lathe or machining center is fully powered down and locked out before changing or setting tooling. Secure the shank firmly in a compatible toolholder to the recommended clamping torque specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Verify groove width and depth with appropriate gauging before committing to production runs.
