The ACCUPRO ACC-G033-4 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for precision internal groove cutting in machined bores. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, this tool delivers the edge retention and rigidity required for accurate groove placement in hardened and abrasive workpiece materials. The 5/16 inch shank diameter fits standard tool holders, and the 0.0335 inch groove width suits tight-tolerance retaining ring grooves. Machinists and tool and die professionals reach for this style of grooving tool when working on hydraulic cylinders, precision shafts, and bore-fitted assemblies requiring snap ring or retaining ring retention features.
This tool is suited for internal grooving operations on bore diameters starting at a minimum of 0.3120 inches, with a maximum hole depth of 0.2500 inches and a projection of 0.1100 inches. The 2.5 inch overall length provides clearance for typical lathe and CNC turning applications. It is appropriate for use on manual lathes, CNC turning centers, and mill-turn machines where retaining ring groove geometry must meet close dimensional tolerances. Sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard addition for internal retaining ring grooving operations on lathes and CNC turning centers accepting a 5/16 inch shank grooving tool.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool and die technicians. Secure the shank firmly in a compatible collet or tool holder and ensure runout is within specification before cutting. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing tooling. Do not exceed the maximum hole depth specification, as over-projection increases deflection and the risk of tool breakage.
