The ACCUPRO ACC-G033-12 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for cutting precise internal grooves in bored holes. Built from submicron carbide grade material, it delivers consistent groove geometry in demanding machining applications. The tool features a 5/16 inch shank diameter and cuts a groove width of 0.0335 inches, making it suited for small-bore retaining ring seat work. Machinists and tool and die professionals install this tool in CNC lathes and boring operations where tight groove tolerances are required. Its compact geometry supports accurate, repeatable cuts in production and maintenance machining environments.
This grooving tool is used in applications requiring internal retaining ring grooves in small-diameter bored holes. With a minimum hole diameter of 0.312 inches and a maximum hole depth of 0.75 inches, it fits into tight-bore scenarios common in precision parts manufacturing, hydraulic component machining, and mechanical assembly work. The 0.11 inch projection and overall length of 2.5 inches keep the tool rigid during operation, reducing deflection in shallow and moderate-depth bores. It is packaged and sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit grooving tool for small-bore internal retaining ring applications using standard 5/16 inch shank toolholders.
Installation is performed by machinists in lathe or CNC turning center setups. Ensure the toolholder is properly torqued and the shank is fully seated before initiating the cut. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and carbide tooling before engaging. Inspect the cutting edge for chips or wear before each use, as submicron carbide tools can fracture if run with a damaged edge.
