The ACCUPRO ACC-G025K-6 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for cutting internal retaining ring grooves in small-diameter bores. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for precise groove geometry in tight tolerances. The tool has a 3/16 inch shank diameter and an overall length of 2 inches. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this tool in CNC lathes, manual lathes, and boring setups where consistent groove width and depth are critical to proper retaining ring seating.
This grooving tool is suited for internal bore applications in both production and maintenance machining environments. It is designed for use in small-diameter bores with a minimum hole diameter of 0.187 inches and a maximum hole depth of 0.375 inches. The 0.050 inch projection allows controlled groove cutting at shallow to moderate depths. Typical applications include hydraulic cylinder components, precision housings, pump shafts, and any assembly requiring a seated retaining ring to secure axial position of a component.

This tool is installed and used by machinists in lathe or CNC turning center setups. Always secure the shank firmly in a compatible toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the workpiece is properly chucked and the machine is at a complete stop before changing or inspecting the tool. Do not exceed the maximum hole depth rating of 0.375 inches, as overextension beyond the rated projection can cause tool deflection or breakage.
