The ACCUPRO ACC-G017Q-10 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for precision internal groove cutting in small-diameter bores. Built from submicron carbide grade material, this tool delivers the hardness and wear resistance needed for consistent groove geometry in demanding machining environments. With a 1/4 inch shank diameter and an overall length of 2.5 inches, it fits standard collet and toolholder setups used in CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Machinists and toolroom technicians use it where tight tolerances on retaining ring seats are required.
This grooving tool is suited for internal retaining ring groove applications in small bores, starting at a minimum hole diameter of 0.25 inches. It supports bore depths up to 0.625 inches, making it appropriate for a range of shallow to moderate-depth groove operations in production and job shop turning applications. The 0.0175 inch groove width and 0.06 inch projection are sized specifically for standard internal retaining ring seat profiles.
Designed as an OEM-style grooving tool for use in CNC and manual turning centers equipped with 1/4 inch collet or toolholder setups capable of internal grooving operations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the 1/4 inch shank firmly in a collet or boring bar toolholder before use, and verify runout before engaging the workpiece. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing or inspecting tooling. Do not exceed the tool projection or maximum depth ratings, as doing so risks tool deflection and premature breakage.
