The ACCUPRO ACC-BBL3201100 is a left-hand cut boring bar manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide with a bright finish. It is designed for internal boring operations on CNC lathes, turning centers, and manual engine lathes. The bar accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.32 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 1.1 inches. The 3/8-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length make it suited for tight-clearance bores where rigidity and wear resistance are critical. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians select submicron carbide for its superior edge retention and resistance to chipping under interrupted cuts.
This boring bar is used in precision machining environments including production shops, job shops, and maintenance machining operations. The left-hand cutting direction accommodates back-boring setups or machines configured for opposite-hand tooling. Typical applications include finishing and semi-finishing of small-diameter bores in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where close tolerances and fine surface finishes are required.
Designed as a standard left-hand solid carbide boring bar for use in 3/8-inch bore bar holders and compatible tooling blocks on CNC and manual turning equipment.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully in the toolholder to the recommended minimum overhang to reduce chatter and deflection. Verify spindle rotation direction before engaging the cut, as left-hand tooling requires correct setup to avoid tool damage or workpiece interference. Inspect the cutting edge under magnification before and after use to confirm carbide integrity.
