The ACCUPRO ACC-BB4902600G is a micrograin solid carbide boring bar designed for internal diameter boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It features a titanium nitride (TiN) finish coating that extends cutting edge life and reduces built-up edge in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.49-inch minimum bore diameter and a 2.6-inch maximum bore depth, this bar handles tight-tolerance finish boring in small-diameter bores. The 0.5-inch shank diameter and 4-inch overall length (OAL) make it compatible with standard tool holders commonly found in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and CNC operators install this tooling in turning and boring applications where carbide rigidity and dimensional repeatability are required.
This boring bar is suited for production turning operations in both light manufacturing and job-shop settings. It is appropriate for use in CNC turning centers and manual lathes wherever a right-hand cutting direction, small minimum bore diameter, and moderate bore depth are required. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention needed for interrupted cuts and continuous finishing passes in steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style boring bar for use in CNC turning centers and manual lathes that accept a 0.5-inch round shank boring bar with right-hand cutting orientation.
Boring bars of this type are installed and adjusted by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing tooling. Ensure the shank is clamped securely in the tool holder to the manufacturer-specified minimum engagement depth to prevent deflection and chatter. Follow your machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and conducting test cuts.
