The ACCUPRO ACC-BB4902500 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built from submicron-grade carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent cutting performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bar features a right-hand cutting direction, a 0.49-inch minimum bore diameter, and a maximum bore depth of 2.5 inches. With a 0.5-inch shank diameter and a 4-inch overall length, it fits standard ER and direct-mount toolholders common in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on submicron carbide grades for tight-tolerance work where edge retention and dimensional accuracy are critical.
This boring bar is suited for finish and semi-finish boring passes in small-diameter bores on lathes, turning centers, and mill-turn machines. Typical applications include bearing seat bores, hydraulic component bores, and precision housings where bore geometry and surface finish tolerances are tight. The right-hand cutting orientation is the standard configuration for conventional spindle rotation on most CNC turning equipment. The 2.5-inch maximum depth-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for moderate-depth bores without the deflection concerns associated with longer-reach tooling.

Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in an E-stop or locked-out state per facility lockout-tagout procedures. Secure the shank in a properly sized toolholder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping torque using calibrated tooling. Confirm bore centerline alignment and tool overhang before running the first pass. Inspect the cutting edge before use; carbide edges are brittle and can chip if the tool contacts the workpiece during rapid traverse.
