The ACCUPRO ACC-BB4902000G is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal bore machining operations. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this bar delivers superior rigidity and wear resistance compared to standard carbide grades, making it well suited for tight-tolerance applications. It accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.49 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 2 inches. The 1/2-inch shank diameter and 4-inch overall length (OAL) fit standard toolholders used on CNC lathes and manual lug boring setups. A TiN finish coating is applied to enhance surface hardness and extend tool life between regrinds. Right-hand cut geometry is standard.
This boring bar is used in metal-cutting operations where accurate, repeatable bore diameters are required. Typical applications include finish boring of bearing bores, hydraulic component housings, and close-tolerance through or blind holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is installed on CNC turning centers, engine lathes, and horizontal machining centers by machinists and tool-and-die professionals operating in job shop, production, and maintenance-and-repair environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling addition for CNC turning centers and manual lathes accepting a 1/2-inch shank boring bar with right-hand cut geometry.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the boring bar from the toolholder. Confirm shank clamping torque meets the toolholder manufacturer specification and verify bar overhang does not exceed the toolholder guidelines to prevent chatter. Follow your shop safety procedures and applicable OSHA machine-guarding standards during setup.
