The ACCUPRO ACC-BB3601800 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for internal diameter boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for consistent, precise bore finishing. The bar accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.36 inches, reaches a maximum bore depth of 1.8 inches, and features a right-hand cutting direction. The 3/8-inch shank diameter and 3-inch overall length make it well-suited for light to medium boring passes in small-diameter workpieces. The bright finish coating reduces friction and aids chip evacuation during cutting.
This boring bar is intended for use in production and job-shop machining environments where tight bore tolerances are required. It is a fit for applications involving steel, aluminum, cast iron, and similar machinable materials where submicron carbide grade provides adequate hardness and wear resistance. Machinists and CNC operators working with small-bore components will find the 0.36-inch minimum bore capability useful for precision internal finishing work. It ships as a single unit and is suitable for use in both production runs and one-off precision turning jobs.
Designed as a direct-fit boring bar for toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter, compatible with standard CNC lathe and manual turning center boring bar holders used in small-diameter internal turning applications.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC toolsetter. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended minimum engagement depth before operation, and verify runout before taking a cut. Ensure the machine spindle is stopped and the tool turret is in a safe index position before inserting or removing the bar. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 1.8 inches, as over-extension increases deflection risk and can damage the cutting edge.
