The ACCUPRO ACC-BB320500A is a micrograin solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It features a right-hand cutting direction, a minimum bore diameter of 0.32 inches, and a maximum bore depth of 0.50 inches. The bar carries a TiAlN finish coating, which extends tool life by reducing heat and wear at the cutting edge. With a 3/8-inch shank diameter and an overall length of 2.50 inches, this bar is sized for small-bore, close-tolerance work where rigidity and precision matter. Machinists and toolroom operators use this style of bar for finishing passes requiring tight dimensional control.
This boring bar suits small-bore internal diameter finishing and semi-finishing applications in metalworking environments. It is appropriate for use on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a high-rigidity, solid carbide tool body is preferred over brazed or indexable tooling. Typical install scenarios include production turning shops, tool and die operations, and job shops running tight-tolerance bore work on lathes or machining centers equipped for small-shank tooling. The compact overall length and 3/8-inch shank make it compatible with standard boring bar holders sized for that shank diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide boring bar for use with standard boring bar holders and sleeves accepting a 3/8-inch round shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the boring bar from its holder. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth to minimize overhang and prevent deflection or chatter. Do not exceed the stated maximum bore depth of 0.50 inches, as doing so risks tool breakage due to the small carbide cross-section.
