The ACCUPRO ACC-BB2901100G is a micrograin solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal diameter machining on CNC lathes and manual turning equipment. It features a 5/16-inch shank diameter and an overall length of 2.5 inches, making it suited for tight-tolerance bore work in small-diameter applications. The minimum bore diameter is 0.29 inches with a maximum bore depth of 1.1 inches. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in continuous cutting operations. Right-hand cutting geometry is standard on this bar. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with steel, aluminum, and similar materials will find this bar appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes.
This boring bar is intended for use in production machining, job shop turning, and toolroom applications where small-bore precision is required. It is well suited to operations involving close-tolerance bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The compact overall length and shank size make it compatible with standard tool holders sized for 5/16-inch round shank tooling. Typical use cases include finish boring of bearing seats, valve bodies, hydraulic components, and similar small-diameter workpieces where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or addition for tool holders accepting a 5/16-inch round shank boring bar in CNC and manual lathe applications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom procedures. Secure the shank fully in the tool holder with adequate clamping engagement before initiating any cut. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing or adjusting tooling. Do not overhang the bar beyond the minimum required depth, as excessive unsupported length increases deflection and reduces bore accuracy.
