The ACCUPRO ACC-BB2301600G is a solid carbide boring bar designed for internal diameter boring operations on CNC lathes, turning centers, and manual boring machines. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, this bar delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for tight-tolerance bores. It features a right-hand cutting direction and a titanium nitride (TiN) coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 5/16-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length make it well suited for short-reach internal boring work. Machinists and tool and die professionals rely on this configuration for finishing and semi-finishing operations where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical.
This boring bar is suited for use in job shops, production machining environments, and maintenance machine shops. It is appropriate for boring operations in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. The 0.23-inch minimum bore diameter and 1.6-inch maximum bore depth define the workpiece range. Setup is straightforward on any lathe or machining center equipped with a standard 5/16-inch boring bar holder or block. Its compact geometry makes it a practical choice for small-diameter internal features where insert-style tooling is not viable.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide boring bar for use in any lathe, CNC turning center, or boring machine equipped with a 5/16-inch shank boring bar holder or tool block.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the machine powered down or placed in E-stop before mounting or removing tooling. Ensure the shank seating surface and holder bore are clean and free of chips before clamping. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 1.6 inches, as overextension increases deflection and risk of tool breakage.
