The ACCUPRO ACC-BB2301150G is a micrograin solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.23 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 1.15 inches, making it well suited for small-diameter, close-tolerance work. The 5/16-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length keep the tool compact and rigid. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish coating is applied to the cutting geometry to reduce friction and extend tool life in production environments. Machinists and toolroom professionals install this bar when boring small holes where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical.
This boring bar is appropriate for light to medium internal boring passes on steel, aluminum, cast iron, and similar machinable materials. Its right-hand cutting direction suits standard lathe setups where the spindle rotates counterclockwise as viewed from the tailstock. The compact shank and short overall length make it a practical choice for Swiss-style and gang-tool setups, as well as conventional engine lathe work requiring precise bore sizing or finishing passes.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before securing or removing the boring bar from its holder. Ensure the shank is fully supported in the holder with minimal overhang to reduce chatter and deflection during cutting. Verify tool centerline height before taking the first pass, as off-center height will affect bore geometry and surface finish.
