The ACCUPRO ACC-BB180600G is a micrograin solid carbide boring bar designed for tight-tolerance internal boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a TiN (titanium nitride) finish coating that extends cutting-edge life and reduces built-up edge on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.18 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.6 inches, this bar is suited for small-diameter, shallow-bore applications where rigidity and precision are critical. The 0.25-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length make it compatible with standard toolholders and quick-change turrets common in production and job-shop environments.
This boring bar is used in precision machining applications where small bore diameters demand tight runout control and consistent finish quality. It is appropriate for light to medium material removal in ferrous metals, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. Machinists and CNC operators working on components requiring fine surface finish and dimensional accuracy in bore diameters at or above 0.18 inches will find this tool applicable across a range of part sizes and fixture setups.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling addition for any lathe or boring setup requiring a 0.25-inch shank boring bar with right-hand cut geometry and a minimum bore diameter of 0.18 inches.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Secure the 0.25-inch shank in a properly sized toolholder or boring bar holder and confirm the tool is clamped to the appropriate overhang length to minimize deflection. Do not exceed the rated maximum bore depth of 0.6 inches in a single pass without verifying feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material.
