The ACCUPRO ACC-BB180350 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide with a bright finish, this bar delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for tight-tolerance bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.18 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 0.35 inches. The 0.25-inch shank diameter fits standard toolholders, and the 2.5-inch overall length suits compact setups where clearance is limited. Right-hand cut geometry follows conventional turning orientation for straightforward setup.
This boring bar is suited for production and job-shop environments where small-diameter, shallow bores are required with repeatable accuracy. Typical applications include finishing bores in aluminum, brass, steel, and cast iron workpieces. The submicron carbide grade supports higher surface speeds and longer tool life compared to standard carbide grades, making it a practical choice for high-cycle production runs or precision one-off work where regrind cost matters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit boring bar for lathes and turning centers accepting a 0.25-inch shank boring bar holder in right-hand cut configuration.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank firmly in the toolholder to the minimum recommended overhang to reduce chatter on small-diameter bores. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or adjusting tooling. Verify bore diameter and depth limits against workpiece requirements before commencing cuts.
